Exam RH302: Red Hat Certified Engineer (Pre-Assessment) $0.00 Total of 40 questions Red Hat’s exam RH302, “Red Hat Certified Engineer” is the one core requirement for the RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer) certification. This advanced level exam is designed for “UNIX- and Linux-experienced users, networking specialists, and system administrators.” There is no specific prerequisite for this hands-on lab exam. This exam is moderately to very difficult and costs $749 USD. The exam may be taken at one of 40 locations throughout North America. For those outside of North America, here are Red Hat’s Worldwide Training Contacts. This day long exam consists of two sections: Section I: Troubleshooting and System Maintenance (2.5 hours) Section II: Installation and Configuration (3 hours) Both sections are are areormance-based, “meaning that candidates must perform tasks on a live system, rather than answering questions about how one might perform those tasks.” “In order to earn RHCE, candidates must complete all compulsory Troubleshooting and System Maintenance problems, earn a section score of 80 or higher on Section I, and earn a score of 70 or higher on both the RHCT and RHCE items in the Installation and Configuration section.” This last requirement means that a candidate who only has RHCT level skills on the RHCE exam can earn the RHCT if they pass the required competencies.
